D.O.G.S. Third Round at Modern Golf & Country Club

Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

So, we came to the halfway stage in this Eclectic Series with our third round and we were greeted with the best weather of the year so far - absolutely glorious - blue skies and just a little breeze which got cooler as the afternoon went on. We had 28 players who made the journey out to Tangerang this Easter long weekend and they were certainly well rewarded.

Great to see John Gustke and Dewi Wardoyo back with us after their travels all suitable refreshed - hopefully!

Yet again, we were able to get going slightly earlier than published and the pace of play was steady as the course was pretty busy as usual. The starters and marshals continue to do a good job in ensuring our game runs smoothly especially when we get round to the turn from the front to back nine's. Back in the clubhouse players were treated to refreshing beverages provided by San Miguel.

So, to the play: Roger had a good day winning one of the Drive & Pitch prizes, the Putting Champion and the Lowest Gross prize - so we thought he might like to call out his own name instead of anyone else having to do it - so we asked him to be our guest presenter this week in Kevin's absence. On course, Roger is never backward in coming forward to help out!!!

Nearest to the Pin honours went to Hitoshi and Keith Gorman with the Longest Drive prizes being taken by Jude Alexander and John Gustke. JB took the other Drive & Pitch prize.

Now we hadn't seen Bram for a while, but he managed to celebrate his return in his usual style by winning both the Booby and Most Exercise prizes.

There were 3 players all on the same points in the running for the top prizes, but Rod had to settle for Runner Up leaving Jacob Smith to take the Little Dog home as this week's Champion. Roger, with his Low Gross prize was the third in the trio!

A big congratulations to all our winners this week.

So, at the halfway stage Hitoshi holds on to his lead but he only has a couple of bogeys to get rid of. The chasing pack is catching up with only 5.5 separating the top 10. Still a long way to go with 54 holes left and some of the top contenders away the next couple of weeks, so it's still wide open!!! You can check out the full results here.

Now, an important weekend to put into your diaries - the 17th /18th May - this will be the second annual Royale Krakatau Challenge held jointly by the D.O.G.S. and TeeSet. For those who went last year it was a great weekend so not to be missed. Registration is open on myGolf2u and you can find the full details here. Please sign up early as we are limited on numbers and hotel availability. More specific details will be published nearer the time.

You also recall we collected IDR20 million from our recent Rancamaya Charity weekend for the Panti Asuhan Kristen Karena Doa Orphanage in Sawangan. We will be visiting the orphanage on Monday 21st April at 2:30pm to hand over the donation - all are welcome to join please.
