Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
Another good turnout with 33 players turning cards in. Once again the course got us underway on time and without issue; last groups were on the tee box by 12:00. The social distancing rules of 1 player per cart coupled with carts being allowed on the fairway have created a hybrid golf/polo game but it does keep pace of play moving. Everyone was in near the 4 hour mark.
This week's round was rain free but no rain brings the heat. While the ambient temperature was a normal 32 °C, the "Feels Like" warmth was above 40 °C! As a result the Fins were fervently hydrating after the round.
The greens were a bit tricky and players had to use care when putting. For those who haven't seen it, here's an example of Jens Roestel's unique putting style below. Rob Nichols also shows his form under Jens watchful eye while Sarah Brown and Kathy Scalabre analyze their putts.
After the round, the atmosphere was very relaxed as the D.O.G.S. enjoyed the afternoon and more of Jari Rahtu's beverage collection which he left behind when departing for Finland.
Dougy McQuater was in good form taking home 3 prizes; Drive & Pitch, Deemples Lowest Net and Runner Up. The biggest smile for the day came from Tribhuvan Singh, AKA "TPS", who took home the Little Dog as our Weekly Champion off his 43 points.
Congratulations to all of our winners! Full results can be viewed on our Leaderboard.
Next week we will be playing our good friends from Tee Set in the annual match for the Juergen Degert Trophy. Douglas McQuater will be leading the charge as D.O.G.S. Captain. Upon completion of the round there will be a poolside barbecue during the award ceremonies.
To keep everything going smoothly we would like to share.
Game fees of 100K will be collected prior to the round. You only pay 1 game fee to either D.O.G.S. or Tee Set.
Barbecue fee of 150K should be paid prior to the round. This gives the chef a good idea of numbers so he can make sure there is plenty of food for all.
In order to get scorecards ready ahead of time the competition will be run using handicaps from this week. As a result players in the team competition may notice a discrepancy between their team competition and regular scorecards.
Bring your swim trunks and towel so you can take advantage of the pool.
First groups off will be from the team competition.
This promises to be a fun day for all so grab a friend and come out to join us.
