Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
So, into our second week at Rancamaya and we were blessed with good weather yet again. Even the traffic was a little better this week given it was the last weekend before Ramadan!
A great turnout of some 53 players made the journey including a few newcomers in Shun Ando, Rachel Watt and Anthony Robertson, and some faces we haven't seen for a while: Jeremy Halma, Denis & Gracie Prangel, Jens Muller and Mikko LaValley. It was also good to see Dean Merrilees back with us after his recent knee replacement - looking much more mobile now!
The course was full in the morning, but we still managed to get off on time with our usual semi shotgun and pace of play was steady. So everyone finished in good time to enjoy the relaxing time in the club house.
To the play: Well Anirudh was set on making sure we all knew he was on the course winning a plethora of prizes: Nearest to the Pin, both the Longest Drives, one of the Drive & Pitch and the Low Gross - a force to be reckoned with for sure. The other Nearest to the Pin prize went to Alessandro Perciante and the remaining Drive & Pitch to Roger Finnie.
Agnes took the putting champion prize this week - chipping in from off the green always helps!. Jacob Smith and Jens Muller enjoyed their afternoon more than most taking the Booby and Most Exercise trophies home.
The top prizes went to Bobby Cangkrama for the Runner Up and Chris Barnett for his second Little Dog in a row - he clearly likes this course - to remain our Weekly Champion!
A big congratulations to all our winners this week.
So, with 2 weeks gone, It's still early to predict the way the Eclectic will go but the low handicappers are rapidly getting to the point where only birdies or better will improve their scores. This should open up possibilities for lesser mortals - like the rest of us - to creep up quietly and take the honours. Still 72 holes to go! You can checkout the full results here.
A forewarning to all - the final week at Rancamaya will be the annual D.O.G.S. & TeeSet weekend with the match play on the Saturday and the Charity Scramble on the Sunday, In between there will be dinner in the club house on the Saturday evening. Those wishing to stay at the R Hotel should make their own arrangements please - good idea to book early. Anyone wishing to contribute/sponsor the raffle prizes please let John Brown know as soon as possible please. There'll be more announcements about the weekend nearer the time. Details can be found on our dedicated page which we will updated as the event evolves.
