Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!
A busy day at Imperial with the D.O.G.S., the Thai Golf Association and a wedding all happening. With the Sunset Bar reserved for us, the wedding not starting until we were well underway, and the efficiency of a full shotgun, meant that the 54 players who came for our second round got off on time. Apart from a little rain right at the end it was a nice afternoon for golf and all were finished in good time. A great credit to the management at the course.
A couple of Dogs even played in both tournaments.
As is usually the case these days, we had some newcomers with Jaroslav Dolecek, Monique Herman and Muhammad Shehryar all making their first-time appearances. Also, good to see some faces we haven't seen for a while, John Dotch, and Shlok Rajeev - welcome back guys!
Having said there was a wedding going on in the club house, it seems some of our girls were thinking of gate crashing the party - behave ladies - you're all happily married already!!!!
So to the play: Dave Moore and Steve Sutton showed their accuracy off the tee taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes. Steve Sutton kept his target golf going on his approach shot taking one of the Drive & Pitch prizes - the other going to Jude Alexander. Nicolas Verdenal and Monique Herman hit long straight drives staying in the fairway - no mean feat on this course - taking the Longest Drive Prizes.
Richard Mau's putter was working allowing him to become this week's Putting Champion, which contributed to him also being this week's Low Gross winner.
Graeme Bruce had a tough day taking the Booby Prize, whilst normal service was resumed with Christian Berkenhoff enjoying the walk adding to his ever growing collection of Most Exercise trophies - it's been a while mate!
Shlok Rajeev had a successful return to the D.O.G.S. taking the Runner Up prize leaving the way clear for Chris Anderson to win his first Little Dog becoming this week's Champion.
Note the life ring next to the green on hole 4 - put there after someone's caddie "fell" into the lake during last year's tournament - not mentioning any names David!
A big congratulations to all our winners!!
So, with 2 rounds complete there's a fair bit of movement at the top of the Eclectic standings with Nicolas Verdenal taking the top spot with a 2 point lead. Still a long way to go of course. Please check out the full standings on our Leaderboard page or in the mygolf2u app.
You will recall that the charity for our last series at Pondok Cabe was the Indriya - YPAI school for autistic children in Bogor. This last week Rod and Dewi visited the school to present the D.O.G.S. cheque and see some of the children in their classrooms.
Thank you all again for your donations - this is such an important part of what the D.O.G.S. is all about.
So next week will be our third round at Imperial and, as we always say, grab a friend and sign up now for next week and don't forget to let Rod know your preferred playing partners. Please note that signing up early helps a lot in getting things ready with the club - thanks.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that while fun is what we promote for the D.O.G.S. it is very important to remember that since we are playing a tournament we do expect everyone plays to the rules. It is unfortunate to report that we are getting more and more whispers about people breaching the rules and marking down incorrect scores. We would ask for players to keep each other honest. If you see something it should be brought up immediately and resolved. If you have done this and there is still a disagreement then please see the committee after the round so we can address it.
Remember, if your group has not assigned scoring duties in myGolf2u to 1 player, then all players must swap scorecards with one of your playing partners. Nobody should be recording their own score unchecked. At the end of the round scorecards must be compared to the app to make sure everything is correct. Scorecards need to be signed by player and marker once they agree all is good. If there is a dispute then scorecards should be left unsigned until player and marker have discussed with a member of the committee.
Thanks for your understanding and see you all on the course.

In a match, a player’s ball is stuck in a bush. The bush itself is growing from an area of ground under repair but the ball is hanging outside of the ground under repair. The player takes free relief using the spot on the ground directly under where the ball lies to measure out the relief area. The player drops the ball in the right way and plays their next stroke.
What is the ruling?
A - The player loses the hole for playing from the wrong place.
B - There is no penalty.
C - The player gets one penalty stroke for taking relief for an unplayable ball.
Correct answer B
Explanation: Everything growing in GUR belongs to GUR, even it hangs to the outside of the marked area.
A player plays their second shot, searches for the ball briefly and then announces they will go back and play a provisional ball. They drop and play the provisional from where they played their previous stroke. The player then continues searching for the original ball and finds it within three minutes of when she first started searching for it. What is the ruling?
A - The player must continue with the original ball.
B - The player must continue with the provisional ball.
C - The player may choose whether to continue with the original ball or the
provisional ball.
Correct answer A
Explanation: As the original ball was found within three minutes, the player must continue with the original ball
A flagstick is a movable obstruction.

B – False
