Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!
A huge turnout for our fourth round with 61 players turning up. The numbers were probably up a bit due to the barbecue planned for after the round hosted by Sarah Brown, Gaurav Shirke, Velma Yolanda and Rhesita "Ayu" Yustitiana to celebrate their birthdays which all fell over the week leading up to the round. We are also quite happy to note that the number of lady Dogs is on the rise with 20 competing for this round. This is surely a record and we are happy to see the ladies participating.
Welcome to Jane Finnie, Rahayu Pujiyati, Rhesita "Ayu" Yustitiana, Richard Berg, Sandra Novita and Wulan Sonzogni, who joined us for their first round. We hope you enjoyed the day and will be back soon.
Nick Gleeson is unable to visit Jakarta and get in a round with us but he was thinking of the D.O.G.S. and shared a picture to let us know he is up to no good in Singapore.
The course got us off to an early start and play was quickly underway. The Finnie name was called frequently during the prize giving with Roger Finnie taking a Nearest to Pin, Putting Champion, Lowest Gross and Runner Up. Not to be left out, the better looking half of the couple, Jane Finnie, made sure her first D.O.G.S. round would be memorable by winning 2 prizes herself; picking up Most Exercise and the Booby Prize. Congratulations to Maria Fongki who was our Weekly Champion.
Congratulations to all of this week's winners!
Full Lowest Gross and Eclectic standings can be viewed on our Leaderboard page.
Following the prize giving everyone enjoyed a delicious birthday barbecue catered NYETIK. Thank you Sarah, Gaurav, Velma and Ayu!
Sunday was Interleague and the D.O.G.S. team was back in action. Once again they had a great showing with Captain Gary Danskin skippering them to 4 wins and 8 out of 8 points for the day!
Tim Knight and Michael Mueller 6 and 4 win
James Bristow and Rey Moore 3 and 2 win
Gary Danskin and Kevin Dobson 3 and 2 win
Hitoshi Maruyama and Cucu Chandra 1up win
Captain Gary had this to say about the performance:
"Well what can I say, so proud of the whole team today . 4 x 4 balls today. We had 4 wins.
Super proud Captain"
We are also super proud of Gary and the Team. Well done all!

Rules

The Rules and what it means when we play.
Are you allowed to repair a pitch mark on the apron?
You have missed the green by a small margin and now you want to put the ball, but towards the hole, but not on the green, is your pitching mark. Are you allowed to repair the pitching mark?
No this is not allowed. The ball has to be played as it lies and even other uneven areas on the ground cannot be repaired (if they are not created by animals).
It is different if a pitching mark came from a ball from another player after you hit your ball. In this case you can repair the mark so that the situation is the same as it was before the other player played after you hit your ball.
Are you allowed to always play a provisional ball?
Another golfer is always playing a provisional ball, if he/she thinks, that the stroke was not good. Even if it is obvious, that the ball can be found.
Is the player allowed to play a provisional ball under any circumstances?
If the ball was flying into the direction of the OB or an area, where the ball might not be found a provisional ball can and should be played (if the 2 stroke penalty rule is not implemented), with the announcement that a provisional ball is being played.
But playing a provisional ball without any reason, besides being an annoyance to other players, is also against the rules. If a provisional ball is played without the above mentioned reasons the provisional ball is automatically the ball in play and a one stroke penalty is added (plus the stroke of the original stroke, from which the ball is not in play anymore).
If you have any questions about rules please drop us a note to jakartadogs@gmail.com and our Rules Guys, Rudie Basson and Jens Roestel will answer on our website.

myGolf2u
Thank you to everyone who is entering scores during our rounds. This makes things much smoother for the committee. Each week the number of cards input goes up, we encourage everyone to enter their scores either during or immediately following the round.
For those of you unfamiliar with the updated App this video shows how to enter scores on D.O.G.S. game days.
For entering scores outside of D.O.G.S. the web portal found at m.mygolf2u.com is quite helpful. In order to make sure you have an accurate handicap all rounds outside of D.O.G.S. should be entered.
We do check on players indexes in the Tee Set database and will use the lower of the 2 handicaps should we find there is a significant difference.
If you play a course that is not in the database please share your scorecard with us and we'll get it added.
Should you need assistance please contact Rod Williams and he will be happy to help.
