Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!,
We had a large turnout for our opening round of the Riverside Eclectic Tournament with 40 players submitting scorecards. The course had a tournament in the morning which meant no early start. Groups were able to begin teeing off at the allotted tee time without delay by semi-shotgun start. The bright sky made for a very hot day and in addition to the heat, the D.O.G.S. were coping with the change of putting styles from the previous course where powering the ball towards the hole was the best method. A much more dexterous stroke was required for the pin placements and green speeds Riverside greeted us with. Despite many players mentioning how tough the conditions were, there many birdies were made; as we have seen in past tournaments, the D.O.G.S. find a way to score well on this difficult course.

The T-Drivers played their inaugural Monthly Medal alongside the D.O.G.S. as part of the day with many players competing in both competitions. The D.O.G.S. fared well with New Dog Afdy Clinton as Best Gross winner and another Dog Jens Roestel winning Best Net. Thanks for joining us, let's do this again!
Over in the D.O.G.S. competition Afdy Clinton continued his success taking a Nearest to Pin and Longest Drive. Manfred Schloffer, guest of long time Dog Winny, enjoyed a successful first round as a double winner of Booby Prize and Most Exercise; Manfred was also awarded an unofficial prize for surviving after hitting 134 shots in the heat. That's a lot of golf! Sarah Brown showed up the men by taking the other Longest Drive with a massive shot on 9. Tim Knight picked up where he left off the last tournament shooting a 79 for Lowest Gross and Remon Moerman was our Runner Up with 36 points. Not to be left out Werner Muchitsch, who after some struggles has recently seen a big improvement in his game, grabbed 2 prizes; Nearest to Pin and most important, Weekly Champion with 39 points.
