Hail the D.O.G.S.!!!!!

Looking at that photo of Gunung Salak it makes to feel totally in the mood for a great day of golf as we returned to our usual home during Ramadhan - at least it will be in a couple of week's time. Despite the usual traffic hold up at the junction off the toll road known as Angkot Ally there was also a huge political rally in Sentul which meant travel times were perhaps a little longer than usual - no worries, it will all smooth out smoothly - perhaps a good idea to leave a little earlier and enjoy the view before getting out on the course.
A total of 41 players did make the journey with some faces we haven't seen for a while - so welcome back Prannoy Agarwala, Remon Moerman, Sepand Zarrabi, Willi Goldschmidt, Dave Prosser and Laurie O'Connor.
The usual very efficient management at Rancamaya got us off on time with a semi shotgun. Pace of play was good until after 10 holes the rain came - and went after only a 30 minute or so stoppage - meaning that most people finished is good time to sit and enjoy the spectacular sunset with Gunung Salak as the back drop - as you can see in the prize giving photos.
So to the play: A pretty good spread of winners this week with the original outrageous Frenchman Eric Mary and Colin Shanks taking the Nearest to the Pin prizes - good to see you winning a skills prize Colin! Dougie McQuater and Prannoy Agarwala also showing how close to the pin you can get taking the Drive & Pitch honours whilst Steve Sutton and Paul Eckhardt took the Longest Drive Prizes - good to see Paul keeping in the winning circle!
John Gustke showed how to miss all the greens to take the Putting Champion prize. Anthony Quigley and Peter Cue found the scenery too inviting to bother too much about their golf winning the Booby and Most Exercise trophies - enjoy guys!
Ian Pemberton , who plays golf about 4 times a week, is showing how all that golf is paying off hitting an impressive 78 to take this week's Low Gross prize. That left Dougie McQuater to take the Runner up prize and Chris Barnett to take the Little Dog home and become our first Weekly Champion for Rancamaya 2025.
A big congratulations to all our winners this week.
With this being only the first round of the Eclectic Series, nothing much to report. Ian Pemberton sits at the top but there's still 90 holes left to play! You can checkout the full results here.
A forewarning to all - the final week at Rancamaya will be the annual D.O.G.S. & TeeSet weekend with the match play on the Saturday and the Charity Scramble on the Sunday. There will be the usual dinner in the club house on the Saturday evening. Those wishing to stay at the R Hotel should make their own arrangements please - good idea to book early. Anyone wishing to contribute/sponsor the raffle prizes please let John Brown know as soon as possible please. There'll be more announcements about the weekend nearer the time.
